CREDENTIALS

Dr. Callegari has successfully completed a rigorous training program in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery; he is fully qualified and certified in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery.

Plastic surgery training entails treating victims of injury, cancer, birth deformities, burns, fractures of bones of the face and hand and many other problems. Plastic surgery has always been involved in many different branches of medicine. For example, plastic surgeons performed the first kidney transplants ever done. Our wide scope of training uniquely enables us to provide the widest range of options for the patients to choose from. Some surgeons are eager to assume the title of "Plastic Surgeon" even though they never completed a plastic surgery residency. This is not illegal, as long as they state somewhere on their literature what they are "really" certified in. There is also a trend for physicians to enter the "plastic surgery field". Some of these physicians have had some training in surgery as part of their overall training, but they never completed an accredited training program in plastic surgery or passed certification examinations. They are still allowed to practice surgery, but you must be aware of their true credentials. How can you find out if someone is certified? First ask the individual what they are qualified in and what certificates they hold from the. Next you can call the American Society of Plastic Surgeons at 1-847-228-9900 and ask if the individual is a member, or to find out if there are any complaints outstanding against that individual.

Choices are always foremost, and who better to provide choices than those who have the widest possible training?
